SCF BIGGEST HEART SCHOLARSHIP
(Students need NOT apply as they are nominated by their coaches).
In 2014 the Albanese family had the wonderful idea to fund and award two graduating
seniors from SHW a community service scholarship based solely upon their efforts to be
better citizens of their school and community regardless of their grade or prowess on the
field/court. We loved this idea so much that we decided to continue this scholarship & want
to award one East & one West student. While the limelight often shines on the star athlete, the
student with the 4.0 GPA, the student who belongs to the most clubs or the most honor societies, or even the student who raises the most money for a particular charity, we are NOT looking for that student. We are looking to award the athlete who achieves success in less public ways. We are looking for the student with the biggest heart, who is genuine, who helps others simply because it is the right thing to do, not for the recognition it may afford them. We are looking for the student who works diligently, and selflessly for others, where the only gratification is in knowing that they have made a difference in someone else’s life.
If you Coach feel that you know a student who meets these criteria, please click below and return or email the completed application form to Janet Reid at Pat Smith's office. If you have any questions, you can contact Christine Fitzgerald fitzyBBCF@optonline.net
