TRISTIN'S WISH

Spreading a Little Happiness

Tristin Hart was only three years old when his life was taken abruptly by a bacterial infection.  His aunt, Susan Hart, a Nesconset mother & local business owner, promised herself that she would find a way to honor his memory and make something positive come from their family’s tragedy.  She wanted to find a way to pass along the joy that Tristin brought to his family.  So with the blessing of Tristin’s grieving parents, she began fundraising in his name with the goal of granting wishes to children to spread a little happiness through a program we have since named Tristin’s Wish.  Tristin’s grandmother, Margaret also wanted to help so she began collecting recyclable bottles and turning them in, saving the funds for Susan to utilize for wishes.  As a loyal supporter of the Smithtown Children’s Foundation, Susan came to learn

that our goals were very similar & so we invited her to join our Advisory Board & to fundraise under Tristin’s Wish for the Smithtown Children’s Foundation.  As a result, we are now able to not only pay bills for families in crisis, but give joy to children when they need it most.

Because of the Tristin’s Wish chapter that Susan & her mother, Margaret spearhead, we have been able to purchase an iPad as a birthday gift for a little girl who lost her mom suddenly, purchase an electric Barbie jeep for a little girl waiting for a heart transplant, grant a wish for a teen to go to a Taylor Swift concert who could not have dreamed of attending due financial constraints, send a teen battling cancer with her parents to Florida to be with her extended family over the holidays, & most recently, send a little boy to New York City to see the Rockefeller tree in a limo as he is wheelchair bound.
